HAAS GR-408
Carbon by Design has an in-house large format machining capability to deliver large structures with repeatability and accuracy using the same cost effective approach that has made our composite solutions so popular among our current customer base. Our large format Haas GR408 table moving gantry system is both highly accurate and flexible enough to hand the largest jobs. This machine is currently utilized to create large format tools, trimming composites and machining flat laminates. Work envelope is 4ft x 8ft x 2ft.




HAAS VF3

The VF3 machining center at Carbon by Design is used exclusively for machining precision aluminum and steel tooling. The 30"x 40" travels are capable of generating large monolithic tools as well as multi-piece complex assemblies. Our customers enjoy our ability to generate and modify tooling rapidly because of our dedicated in-house machine shop. The VF3 is a brand new 2010 model for the ultimate in precision and repeatability.

 

 

HAAS VM6

At the heart of our large tooling machining operations is the new Haas VM6 tooling center. The expanded work envelope of the VM6 allows for the high fidelity creation of tooling which is typically out of range for most machining centers. In the past we have loaded monolithic pieces of aluminum weight more than 1000 lbs. on to the table to create giant single piece tooling. With a surface tolerance of .00005" the VM6 can faithfully reproduce any solid model or tooling in a variety of materials.  

HAAS VF2SSYT

The VF2SSYT is our go to solution for in-house parts fabrication and fixturing. This machine is equipped with a fourth axis, CCM Probe System, and automatic tool setter. Very few machined components require complexity which cannot be found in the VF2. This incredibly small package delivers on demand production for our internal needs as well as production capacity for our customer’s ongoing programs.

 

 

HAAS VM3

The Haas VM3 is our typical choice for tooling projects which do not require the added capacity of the oversized VM6. This platform offers the repeatability and accuracy expected in any tooling center in a compact size which meets most sizing requirements. This machine is equipped with a high speed spindle, a full complement of high speed memory and expanded look-ahead buffer. This machine is commonly used to create the inserts required for large job which are running on the VM6 tooling center.
