We have embraced software based design technology from the very beginning. The fact of the matter is that any tooling created from the original digital model is better. It allows the operator to observe any complication or short comings long before any capitol is spent on tooling. We have a painstaking draft analysis and release procedure which identifies any potential lamination or ejection problems.

Our molds are based upon the results yielded from our software modeling. For structural applications this information is then sent to the CNC where a mold is cut directly from a block of T6 Aluminum.

High Quality VIP Soft Tooling

The VIP process is extremely demanding on soft tooling. A single void in VIP tooling can result in disastrous consequences. We pride ourselves on building the best quality soft VIP tooling in the industry.

All of our soft tooling is created from a Carbon by Design proprietary blend of vinyl Esters resins which offer the strength christies of exotic Epoxies but allow for the use of Isothalic gelcoat surfaces which allow for unmatched surface quality. Our tools feature PVC or aluminum back-up structures depending on thermal coefficient requirements.

Our VIP tooling features ultra wide 8" flanging and .020" of Isothalic Tooling Gel Coat. Tooling flanges are created to minimise pleating and the need for massive geometry accommodations in vacuum bagging or b-side tooling.
